Top Property Casualty Underwriting Executive oversees all aspects of the property casualty underwriting business line. Develops procedures and guidelines regarding risk management, application and renewal, and application and rejection. Being a Top Property Casualty Underwriting Executive researches and monitors changes to laws and regulations which impact Property and Casualty insurance products. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Top Property Casualty Underwriting Executive typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to top underwriting executive. The Top Property Casualty Underwriting Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Property Casualty Underwriting Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     As a Property & Casualty Operations Intern, you will gain an understanding of the insurance industry and the regional operation functions behind it. The program will provide you with a broad understanding of the insurance brokerage cycle from getting a regional overview of new business production, account management, accounting, carrier and wholesale relations, and legal requirements. You will work with leadership to implement projects designed to bring cohesion and best practices to offices within your region. You will provide support to the regional team, while developing time management, conflict resolution, and intrapersonal skills.

    What You'll Do

    • Complete a rotation through critical teams which help assess issues, develop solutions, negotiate risk transfer contracts, and provide claims advocacy on behalf of policy holders.  
    • Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
    • Facilitates compliance reporting on Property & Casualty initiatives by developing actionable tracking templates.
    • Reviews carrier contracts to ensure accuracy and readiness for legal approval.
    • Preps materials for meetings.
    • Participates in meetings with carriers, third party vendors, and internal leadership.
    • Summarizes meeting notes/takeaways for the group.
    • Manages performance data to track key performance indicators.
    • Maintains e-mail distribution lists, as needed.
    • Updates internal websites with relevant information, such as events, documents, etc.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    • Must be driven, self-starting, and coachable while demonstrating a high level of maturity.
    • Must be adaptable while working on various initiatives with different teammates.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents, and a high capacity for learning is critical.
