Team Member Relations Specialist

    Under the direction of the Team Member Relations Manager, the Team Member Relations Specialist provides administrative support and guidance to Team Members, managers, and the Team Member Relations team. The Team Member Relations Specialist promotes a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

     

    This role and its function are part of the Human Resources shared services model. A Team Member in a shared service structure, works within a dedicated business unit (including people, processes, and technologies) that is structured as a centralized point of service and is focused on defined business functions. These units typically serve multiple business groups enterprise wide, and typically have established Service Level Agreements.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for answering calls into the HR Hotline in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for the record keeping and administrative duties related to COVID cases.
    • Works with Team Members and all levels of management regarding inquiries and disputes related to the company time and attendance policy.
    • Responds to initial unemployment claims, tracks data, and prepares packets for court hearings.
    • Prepares Chumash Emergency Relief Fund packets for committee review and tracks data and filing of applications.
    • Makes copies and requests information as needed from the Payroll and Benefits teams.
    • Collaborates with the Security Department and follows established protocol for positive drug test results, including notifications to appropriate parties and administrative processes regarding suspensions.
    • Collaborates with Records Clerk on verification of employment requests, ensuring appropriate forms are received and signed.
    • Responsible for processing and tracking parking permit requests.
    • Provides support to Team Members requiring assistance on the computer kiosks (e.g., eform submissions for time off requests, parking permits, transfer requests, etc.).
    • Responsible for preparing folders for termination appeals for the Employee Relations team, sending related communications for each termination appeal request, and coordinating appeal meetings.
    • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or GED certificate.
    • Associate’s Degree preferred.
    • Two years’ experience in Employee/Team Member Relations.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
    • Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse employee related issues, concerns, situations, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including occasional nights, holidays, and weekends.
    • Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
    • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
    • Native American hiring preference applies.
    • Organizational Awareness: Having and using knowledge of systems, situations, procedures, and culture inside the organization to identify potential problems and opportunities; perceiving the impact and the implications of decisions on other components of the organization.
    • Attention to Detail: Taking responsibility for a thorough and detailed method of working.
    • Data Gathering and Analytics: Collecting, consolidating, and using relevant information; recognizing important information; tracing possible causes of problems, and searching for practical data/solutions.
    • Problem Solving: Having the ability to identify problems and issues of varying complexities and to find effective solutions with few guidelines.
    • Adaptability: Maintaining effectiveness in reaching set goals by adapting to changed circumstances, tasks, responsibilities, and people.
