Executive Director - Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries (FSCPL)
Background
FSCPL is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that supports the Santa Cruz Public Libraries which includes 10 branches, a bookmobile, and outreach services. Together our goal is to create stronger neighborhoods and a culturally enriched county through free, accessible, and diverse library services and programs.
Incorporated in 1979, FSCPL now consists of seven community-based affiliated chapters and a consistent base of nearly 1,000 annual donors. During its history, FSCPL has provided leadership that has resulted in the successful passage of Measure B (1996) providing millions of dollars in operating funds; Measure R (2008) creating a permanent ¼ cent sales tax for library operations; and the successful passage of Measure S (2016) providing over $67 million for new construction or remodeling of ten branch libraries. In addition, FSCPL raised over $1,000,000 (2021) in a Realizing the Promise Campaign to close the gap between Measure S funds and funds needed for branch upgrades. FSCPL is preparing its final Measure S capital campaign to raise gap funds for construction of the Santa Cruz Downtown Branch Library.

This position requires in-person work, some evening and weekend availability. The position is preferably full-time, but part-time is negotiable. The Executive Director reports to the Board President, is accountable to the Executive Committee, and both supports and takes direction from the Board of Directors.
