Top Purchasing Executive leads procurement and purchasing operations and develops strategic plans to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Evaluates and develops strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Top Purchasing Executive fosters collaboration with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Designs processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Top Purchasing Executive incorporates auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Top Purchasing Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Education:
*High School diploma or equivalent required
*Additional coursework in general business or office technology preferred
*Manufacturing or Production Engineering / Technician Associates Degree preferred
Experience:
* Manufacturing Engineering training or experience required
*PC abilities with Windows and Microsoft Office Software required
*Must be competent with office machines
*Good interpersonal communication skills required
*Strong organization and documentation skills.
*Strong analytical skills
*Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position.
*Proficiency in CRM and inventory management software programs
Essential Function(s):
*Regular and punctual attendance required
*Assist Purchasing and R&D with tool tracking, tool trials, tooling inspections, tool repairs, etc.
*General purchasing support (research costs, place orders, receiving)
*Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs
*Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments
*Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries
*Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
*Extensive computer work (creating databases, data entry, possible CAD/CAM)
*Sales support
*Cross train and provide communication and assistance to other departments as needed
*Understand and follow company policies
*Maintain data and prepare reports as required
