My client, Suominen/Bethune Nonwovens currently has (1) Specialist, Purchasing, Bethune position opening in Supply Chain department at their Bethune, SC Facility – Day Shift. The salary range for this position is $62k to $82 – depending on experience.

You may be our next Specialist, Purchasing, to be located at our Bethune, SC location.

Suominen is looking to hire a dynamic Specialist, Purchasing to execute the activities of the purchasing function within the plant. This position reports to the Manager, Supply Chain in Bethune.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Execute day-to-day operational purchasing activities within a plant.

• Orders materials and services according to demand within deadlines. May negotiate with external stakeholders.

• Supports corporate Sourcing with the selection and contract negotiations of key supplies locally.

• Ensures supply sources for services and materials not supported by corporate Sourcing.

• Develops and administers purchase orders and any amendments, as necessary.

• Responsible for cost management, on-time delivery, incoming product quality and continuous improvement of purchasing in a plant.

• Forecasts and reports raw material requirements to corporate sourcing as required.

• Evaluates vendor price and service quotes to select best value qualified vendors.

• Completes new vendor credit applications and establishes account/credit terms.

• Maintains accurate SAP system information, including lead time, pricing, MOQ, and safety stock levels.

• Manages vendor consignment programs, associated duties, and consignment reporting.

• Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors costs.

• Research and resolves receiving and vendor invoice discrepancies.

• Ensures Investment Budget rules are followed to ensure adherence to policy.

• Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers.

• Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper receipt of materials.

• Traces delinquent arrivals of raw materials, equipment and supplies and expedites deliveries as needed.

What we expect from you:

• 3 years of purchasing and planning experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business or related discipline, or equivalent Purchasing and planning experience in a maintenance environment.

• Good negotiating and project management skills.

• Experience using a manufacturing SAP system.

• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs.

• Nonwovens raw material purchasing preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
