JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Purchasing Associate will report directly to the Purchasing & Planning Manager. This role is responsible for sourcing materials with R&D, shopping materials for value, purchasing materials. This position also serves as backup though training to some Accounts manager duties and P&P Manager duties. This position is responsible for timely delivery of materials for production needs. This position will work in an FDA regulated and SQF FSMA compliant facility, experience with this is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Review of material needs through MRP in our ERP system and ensure on time delivery.

● Work with R&D on material sourcing and gathering samples.

● Work to determine best vendors to provide materials.

● Works with Accounts Manager to ensure Vendor Approvals.

● Works with FSQA to ensure compliant records are retained on all materials.

● Works with Suply Chain to coordinate shipments.

● Assists with evaluating Production run metrics.

● Participate in required SQF Compliance activities including internal and external audits.

● Manage consumables inventory.

● Flexibility to other activities as needed in a growth environment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Requirements):

● Minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience in an ERP environment.

● Strong Google Docs skills are a must.

● Strong Office Suite skills.

● Must have strong analytical, trouble-shooting and communication (written and verbal) skills.

● Must be self-directed, team-oriented and able to evaluate and effectively handle multiple priorities.

● Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation in order to best serve multiple internal and external customer relationships.

● Willing to get your hands “dirty”

Nice-to-Have’s:

• Food Safety/Food Quality focused degree
• SQF experience
• PCQI certification

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and our Company’s size – with the pay range between $23.00-$27.00 per hour with bonus potential.
