Top Purchasing Executive leads procurement and purchasing operations and develops strategic plans to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Evaluates and develops strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Top Purchasing Executive fosters collaboration with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Designs processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Top Purchasing Executive incorporates auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Top Purchasing Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.     Our company is currently seeking an individual who is able to take responsibility for the procurement of parts and raw materials and ensure optimal levels of inventory stock using the MRP tools available. This is a full-time, hourly position (approximately 40-45 hours per week). Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, and participation in company sponsored health insurance plan and also retirement plan.

    Responsibilities/Tasks:

    • Coordinate with the delivery team and follow up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled.
    • Establish professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.
    • Ensure all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.
    • Conduct research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
    • Negotiate appropriate contracts for pricing and supply
    • Work with team members, supervisors, and purchasing manager to develop future purchasing plans
    • Track incoming inventory, delivery arrival time, and note actual arrival time
    • Work with and make suggestions to the management team to develop policy and procedures that bring efficiencies and excellence to our processes.
    • Collaborate with financial team members on contracts, invoicing, and other financial matters

    Skills/Experience:

    • Should have prior experience in material and product procurement.
    • The ability to identify market trends and make decisions in a high-stress environment.
    • Have prior experience using a computer based MRP (Material Resource Planning) system.
    • Understanding of supply chain procedures
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts
    • Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
    • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
