Beyond A Resume seeks a Purchasing Specialist for our biotech client in Millville, NJ.

Job Overview:

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing contract manufacturers, ingredients vendors, packaging materials vendors and production materials; Conducting RFPs to assess capabilities, quality, and pricing; developing, maintaining, and training contract manufacturers and vendors on procedures; sending and managing fulfillment of purchase orders.

Job Responsibilities:

• Source the best quality contract manufacturers, ingredients, packaging (labels, bottles, caps, inner seals, tamper bands, boxes, etc.), and production materials (drums, bags, PPE, etc.).
• Conduct RFPs for new vendors and create professional relationships with new and existing vendors to ensure the best results.
• Plan and execute new vendor transitions with production and quality teams.
• Coordinate artwork transitions and press checks with design team and vendors.
• Manage quality assurance of all ingredients and materials.
• Monitor commodity markets and make informed decisions.
• Place purchase orders for materials in a timely manner with clear instructions for each vendor.
• Ensure on time delivery of ordered materials meeting quality specifications.
• Forecast and report out sourcing spend.
• Perform spend analysis and review it with senior management.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of sourcing/purchasing experience in a nutraceutical/pharma/food industry.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college required.
• Strong leadership, relationship building and communication skills.
• Must be able to facilitate meetings with senior functional leads.
• Ability to travel at least 20% of the time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
