Quality Manager

A local, Fort Wayne area manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Manager or a Quality Engineer ready to step into a Quality Manager role. All they ask if you have familiarity with Plastics (idealyl Injection Molding, or Blow Molding, or Thermoforming), and some familiarity with the PPAP and APQP processes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all quality programs, issues, and improvement for this location.
• The Quality Manager will serve as administrator/management representative of ISO Quality System.
• The Quality Manager ensures quality documents are created and maintained.
• Manage and conduct quality audits, document results, implement corrective action.
• The quality Manager will ensure controls are in place such that all manufactured products conform to all company and industry quality and regulatory agency standards.
• The Quality Manager will ensure labs and plants have appropriate equipment/technology to perform needed measurements/tests.
• The Quality manager or will ensure performance of requested testing from customers and /or standard organizations.
• The Quality Manager will ensure documentation and maintenance of Corrective/Preventative Action Plans, Customer Complaints, and Vendor Complaints. Responsible for follow up to ensure timely resolution of complaints. Assists Account Managers and Sales team with resolution of backcharge items or non-conformance complaints.
• The Quality manager is responsible for maintaining and updating the Quality Manual, and communicating updates within the organization.
• Assists QC personnel as requested by Technical Services Manager to ensure that quality controls are in process and functioning appropriately.

Qualifications for Quality Manager

• 6-sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Desired. Lean or Six Sigma experience required
• College Degree, Technical degree and/or CQE/CQM strongly preferred
• 3 years experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, or similar role in world-class manufacturing operations.
• 3 years working with quality standards, documentation, and quality manuals.
• Knowledge of SPC and Process Control (how to measure, track analysis and initiate improvement)
• Familiarity with common quality systems and processes such as PPAP, APQP, or IQ/OQ/PQ
• Strong management and team building skills, with a team-based management style.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $79,110.00 - $114,038.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
