  • Duties

    • You will develop and implement the Command’s internal communication strategy tied to strategic business objectives.
    • You will develop story ideas for and write engaging and strategically-focused internal employee communication material for the Command’s intranet, internal newsletters, and other internal communication opportunities.
    • You will plan, develop, and organize content for quarterly all hands, monthly all-supervisor meetings, and other internal communication forums.
    • You will manage employee feedback/survey communication methods.
    • You will establish and track metrics that help correlate internal communications programs to employee productivity and organization performance.
    • You will liaise with shipbuilder partners, Naval Sea Systems Command/Program Executive Office stakeholders, and pre-commissioning crew members to support the Navy’s external communication objectives.
    • You will respond to queries from news media, the general public, and other organizations in accordance with higher echelon guidance.
    • You will serve as command historian, compiling annual report in accordance with Navy regulations and ensuring custodial requirements of loaned Navy historical property are met.
    • You will serve as the Command’s official photographer for presentations, award ceremonies, and other special events.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (or GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, Managing a public affairs or communications program to include web and social media content, audio/visual media software, photography, or professional article publication for an organization.

    Additional information

    The NH-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13 grade levels. This position has a control point; thus, the salary range for this position is capped at GS-13, step 05 which is currently equivalent to $117,198. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched.

    This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

    This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Acquisition Demo Business & Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
