The North Mississippi State Hospital is searching for a Social Services Specialist III for the Tupelo, Mississippi location in Lee County. This is a full-time Position. The Social Services Specialist (Social Worker) will be responsible for the Management of assigned client casework. The incumbent will support the mission of NMSH to provide the highest quality acute psychiatric care for Northeast Mississippi adults in the process of recovery.
Essential Functions:
This is professional work performed in a medical, mental health or psychiatric setting involving the performance of social services for psychiatric patients of NMSH. The work involves such services as obtaining data for compiling social histories, helping patients in obtaining assistance from private social agencies, counseling patients on problems encountered in an institutional setting, and participating in discharge planning. Incumbents’ work is overseen by a Social Services Manager.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Education:
Must be licensed to practice Bachelor's level Social Work (LSW or above) in the State of Mississippi
