Our client, a global Japanese trading company is looking for a Tax Associate in the Houston TX area to join their team

Title: Tax Associate

Industry: Renewables Trading

Type: Full Time Direct Hire Exempt

Location: Houston TX

Salary: 103-134K 10% bonus

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years of related tax experience
• Experience in OneSource income tax preparation software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Minimum of College Degree in accounting
• Knowledge of compliance for unitary income tax filings and interacting with an external tax advisor for the preparation of other unitary filings

JOB DUTIES:

• Prepare tax renditions accurately
• Reconcile appraisal notices and correct discrepancies if required
• Prepare apportionment factors, state adjustments conforming to the federal internal revenue code
• Prepare unitary Michigan income tax return working with external tax advisors for preparation
• Prepare for state adjustments, income tax settlement and estimated tax
• payments
• Maintain for the internal property tax manual
• Support for tax audits and tax planning
• Making semi-monthly tax payments and preparing for quarterly return
