Position Overview:
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, planning and directing quality activities in support of the company’s quality assurance operations and goals, ensuring achievement of company standards and maintained with a targeted emphasis on Continuous Improvement.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage and lead the daily activities of Quality Assurance of the Plant
- Collect, organize, monitor, and report on information related to the functions of the Quality Assurance department.
- Establish and maintain continuity of quality related programs and/or issues between all departments and all shifts.
- Assist in the issuing, coordinating, and processing of Return Material Authorizations and Supplier Material Rejections
- Interact with both customer and company personnel on all levels regarding quality related issues.
- Continuously review quality processes for improvement.
- Maintain plant and company quality standards – PPM goals Metrics.
- Knowledge of ISO-9001:2015
- Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016
- Ability to coordinate and provide PPAPs to Nelson Customers
- Knowledge of MSA, SPC and other monitoring programs.
- Ensure process documentation control to the IATF requirements.
- Maintain calibration program throughout plant.
- Establish production quality plans and set in-process and final inspection hold points.
- Schedule and assist in customer inspections audits.
- Train personnel on quality processes and procedures
- Perform other duties and projects as required.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering or Quality discipline
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standard -- required.
- IATF 16949:2016 trained lead and auditor -- required.
- Experience within manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Kaizen methodology and Lean concepts
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop training and train employees.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Project management
- Computer proficiency in MS windows and office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in SAP preferred.
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to prioritize, follow through and build relationships.
