Total Quality Manager manages the implementation, administration and measurement of total quality management programs, including Six Sigma initiatives. Leads teams to provide training, tools, and logistical assistance for quality initiatives. Being a Total Quality Manager oversees development of new testing tools, and measurement methods and systems to ensure products and services meet quality standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Total Quality Manager typically reports to a senior manager. The Total Quality Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Total Quality Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This role requires a highly detail-oriented individual committed to the organization of hundreds of unique products, safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks, and collaboration across many departments.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the following operations: yarding and loading product for will-call and deliveries and unloading and storing incoming freight.
- Monitor and report inventory for resale items and vendor materials used in products.
- Develop, lead, and empower employees.
- Efficiently manage a small team and other resources to meet the needs of the business.
- Maintain company standards of the yard, customer interactions, and product delivery, including cleanliness, organization, and process adherence.
- Focus on relationship-building across the organization.
- Oversee daily QC functions performed by QC technicians and fill in as necessary.
- Ensure all QC checks are completed and all records are kept up to date per ACI and NPCA standards.
Requirements:- High School Diploma
- Experience in a construction setting
- May be required to pass ACI (American Concrete Institute) Testing / maintain certification
- Existing ACI/PQS (Production & Quality School) / PCI (Precast Concrete Institute) certifications preferred
- Experience in Quality Control
- Ability to understand units of measurement and translate them to production
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings
- Understanding of reinforcement and lifting inserts
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to problem solve and organize
- Strong communications skills in a team environment
- Good math skills
