Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, has an immediate opportunity for a Plant Manager at the Detroit, MI, operation. The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Develops and fosters processes that will maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Assigns and schedules daily tasks and workloads to meet production goals.
Ensures all materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.
Inspects incoming materials and verifies invoices.
Inspect machines and equipment and direct workers engaged in maintenance and repair work.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Maintains time and production records.
Works with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Identifies problems with manufacturing processes and recommends improvements for optimum productivity.
Determines plant supply needs and communicates those needs to management.
Guide and coach plant employees.
Oversee safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
Orders plant safety equipment and PPE as needed.
Fills in as needed in various roles to ensure maximum productivity.
Assists in determining the proper order of processing orders to ensure the highest efficiency.
Maintains time and production records.
Maintains ISO quality standards and necessary documents.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
Previous manager experience
Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Excellent customer oral and written communication skills
Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making
Collaborative; builds and works with teams
Ability to coach and mentor
Pre-employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
