GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Trade Compliance Manager will have responsibility for all aspects of international trade in accordance with company policy and US. Government regulations including but not limited to the Department of State, Department of Commerce, US Census Bureau, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, Office of Foreign Assets Control. The Trade Compliance Manager will provide guidance and support to internal resources, lead the trade compliance department and partner closely with key business partners and stakeholders to understand regulatory requirements and ensure Kratos can support international initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Serve as the lead Empowered Official for the Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems (KUAS) Trade Compliance Department

Create and articulate a trade compliance vision to inspire trust and confidence throughout the organization in progression through the sales lifecycle from proposal to development, and execution and then follow through in a timely and aligned manner while being a driver of proper export authorization management.

Provide overall trade compliance guidance and support to internal stakeholders (e.g., PM, BD, Contracts, Logistics) on day-to-day trade compliance operational activities and issues including export control requirements, authorization determinations for hardware, technical data, and services (licenses, TAAs, exemptions or exceptions) and restricted party screening (RPS).

Prepare, complete, and monitor export/import license applications, licenses, agreements and import permits

Perform other export control and import control recordkeeping and adhere to documentation requirements. Administer and oversee compliance with authorizations.

Complete and manage ITAR/EAR/HTS/Schedule B classification determinations

Provide guidance for logistics personnel on license applicability for export and imports.

Train and provide input to KUAS Trade Compliance team regarding trade compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines for KUAS business operations.

Measure compliance with internal policies and procedures implemented to ensure compliance with U.S. trade controls and licensing requirements and support investigations of any potential violations.

Track and monitor Corrective Action Plans for subsequent follow-up verification and closure. Provide ongoing support and guidance to team members and international trade professionals across KUAS on existing program requirements, adjustments, and/or improvements.

Conduct and facilitate due diligence reviews in connection with transactions that may pose a trade compliance risk to the Company

Conduct export compliance updates/refresher training as well as authorization-specific training for personnel.

Work closely with and support reporting requirements to Corporate Director of Trade Compliance

Develop and foster relationships with internal departments involved in trade compliance activities.

Help business partners understand the risks and consequences of a given situation. Effectively communicate the consequences and develop alternatives to manage identified risks

Undertake special projects and support other compliance program initiatives as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
BA/BS in related field or minimum 10-15 years of industry experience in international trade, export compliance or related experience

Experience with U.S. trade laws (i.e., International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs trade regulations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

Practical day to day work experience applying ITAR and EAR regulations

Working knowledge of export/import shipping documents (e.g., Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings, Air Waybills

Management of personnel
-
Experience in Defense Industry is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office and/or manufacturing environment.

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).

Ability to lift up to 15 pounds unassisted.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel domestically as required between company locations.
