    This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Assistant Administrator-HQ Ops/International Affairs Division.

    As a Wine Technical Trade Advisor, you will:

    • Accompany the Division Director and other Bureau officials on the technical consultations and conferences regarding the regulatory requirements pertaining to the wine industry.
    • Prepare for issuance public guidance, public-use documents, presentations, and internal directives concerning work relevant to the wine industry.
    • Maintain current, in-depth technical knowledge of domestic and international wine production practices and materials.
    • Conduct research and analytical studies involving the wine industry to determine possible impact of proposed or potential trade initiatives on the regulated industry.

    Specialized Experience:
    For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
    • Developing policy regarding regulations, standards, or processes for wine production, viticulture, or enology; AND
    • Leading projects or programs pertaining to wine industry requirements; AND
    • Communicating with stakeholders (i.e., international trade industry, interagency groups or teams, or other federal, local, state or international agencies) on wine industry-related matters.
    For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
    • Experience leading projects and studies; AND
    • Providing advice on technical matters involving wine.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (CONTINUED):

    • Possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) upon appointment OR within days of appointment (as appropriate) and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position.
    • This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
