JOB PURPOSE:
Oversees the daily operations Q-Mart in relation to cashiers register functions and task requirements. Responsible for ensuring all required paperwork and tasks are completed as per policy.
Specific duties and day-to-day tasks of the Lead Cashier are prompted by assignments and by requirements to fulfill responsibilities established by the Supervisor. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supervises daily cashiers to ensure compliance with register operations policies and procedures
• Ensures cashiers provide “exceptional” customer service.
• Ensures compliance for age-restricted sales
• Verifies cashier’s daily paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Supervises and directs cashier’s breaks and lunch periods.
• Verifies all cashiers returns and refunds
• Reviews and councils cashiers on daily over/shorts
• Prepares and presents cashiers performance reviews as directed by management.
• Demonstrates exceptional ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a clerk.
• Prepares store for daily opening and or closing in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently.
• Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
• Adhere to all Q Mart Policies, QNEB Personnel Manual, Title 97 and TERO Policies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Required:
• Must be 21 years of age
• High School Diploma/GED
• Six (6) months as a Lead/Supervisor in retail or related field.
• One (1) year cash handling experience with POS scanning systems.
• Must maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License and must be insurable through our company.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to work and be flexible with all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good internal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated team player.
Preferred:
• Native American preference.
