    Civil Engineer (Municipal) is a role that manages complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines, working closely with municipal leaders and city councils to provide engineering solutions in all aspects involving planning, designing and overseeing general civil engineering and municipal infrastructure improvements.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform engineering work, including planning, design, analysis, modeling, drafting, construction administration, and inspection of public works projects.
    • Lead the preparation of plans, specifications, proposals, contracts, district maps, and cost estimates for proposed projects.
    • Review and approve engineering and construction projects for compliance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, specifications, and standards.
    • Lead the preparation of budget estimates for engineering and construction activities.
    • Inspect construction sites to verify progress and compliance with plans and specifications; resolve problems and conflicts that arise at the construction site.
    • Analyze problems pertaining to public works infrastructure and determine corrective action.
    • Attend company meetings, public meetings, client meetings, project meetings, and conferences.
    • Respond to public and professional inquiries and complaints with a client-first focus.
    • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

    WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
    • Professional Engineering License (PE) for the state of ND or ability to obtain with 1 year of hire
    • 6 years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering, Municipal experience preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • You have strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD and other related programs.
    • Ability to work in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills.

    This position is based in our Minot, ND office; however, occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required on an occasional basis.


    Salary & Benefit Information

    This is a full-time exempt position with a pay range is $68,000-$95,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
