    Position Overview:

     

    As our municipal engineering business continues to grow in Northern BC, we are seeking to add an intermediate municipal engineer in our Prince George office.  This person will play a key role in the success and growth of our business in this region.  Reporting directly to the BC Municipal Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in working with municipalities to deliver successful projects through a motivated and dynamic team of professionals. Successful applicants will participate in executing projects in their full life cycle from the provision of engineering services from proposal stage through planning, design, construction and commissioning of projects.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
    • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation registered with EGBC
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a design role within a consulting engineering environment or industry

     

    Major Job Functions:

     

    • Working with teams of technical staff to deliver high quality engineering drawings and reports for municipal projects
    • Preparation of contract documents for tendering and execution
    • Project management and contract administration
    • Working closely with Onsite’s Provincial municipal engineering manager in areas such as business development and strategic planning
    • Preparing project proposals
    • Mentoring and development of junior staff
    • Supervising the work of technologists and junior staff and providing technical direction

     

    Specific Skills and Knowledge:

     

    • Experience in municipal engineering including design of water, sewer, stormwater, and road infrastructure
    • Knowledge of civil construction
    • Flexibility
    • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy/numeracy and quality orientated
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business
    • Motivated and dynamic self-starter
    • Strong planning, time management and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
    • Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills
    • A committed and positive attitude along with an obvious client focus and the ability to build a positive rapport with clients
