    The Office of Planning, Performance & Effectiveness at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Director of Institutional Research and Planning. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024.
    Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake.     RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the President, the Director of Institutional Research and Planning is charged with providing operational leadership, direction, and administration of the area. The Director assists with university plans, institutional and program assessment, and leads institutional research. The Director exercises a high degree of responsibility, judgment, and initiative in identifying appropriate information, policies, and their relationship to internal and external practices. The Director represents the University with external constituencies and actively participates in university leadership through collaboration with the President, vice presidents, human resources, deans, department chairs, faculty, staff and federal, state, and agency officials. The Director is a member of the President’s Senior Cabinet and Leadership Council, participates in overall University planning, research and assessment efforts and decision making and interacts daily with other administrators, faculty, and staff regarding institutional issues.
    REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree with at least three years of progressive leadership experience in a postsecondary education setting within an institutional research, planning, or assessment environment. Demonstrated experience using research and analysis of data to assist senior leadership in effective decision-making; excellent planning, analytical, and organizational skills; high proficiency with query/report writing and microcomputer applications (including SPSS); ability to write, speak and present information clearly and concisely; demonstrated ability to effectively lead staff and work in a team environment; demonstrated ability to design and implement research of varying complexity on institutional policy issues; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy; and ability to work effectively with colleagues from a service orientation.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in statistics, program assessment/evaluation or master’s degree with a minimum of four years of experience in institutional research, program evaluation, assessment, educational research and planning. A sophisticated understanding of higher education policy issues at both the national and state levels; broad college/university administrative experience that includes involvement in academic affairs, student success initiatives, administrative support service, and general administrative functions.

    Organizational Relationships
    The Director reports directly to the President. Collaborates on a regular basis with the members of the President’s Cabinet, Deans, Directors, Human Resources, and faculty/staff. Communicates externally with peers from other institutions and staff at the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and other external groups.
