We are seeking a DSP to work 1:1 with a woman with autism in her home in Waterville. The family has a swimming pool and the DSP should be comfortable spending time in the summer in the pool with the individual. Experience working with people with behavioral management needs is a big plus. This individual would benefit from having support provided by someone who can be low key and calm. You must be comfortable providing adult personal care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and care to an adult woman with intellectual disabilities in her home
- Ensure the rights and dignity of the individual are upheld
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
- Assist with transportation needs, including driving residents to appointments or activities.
We offer mileage reimbursement.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Familiarity with supporting people with autism is highly desirable
- First aid certification is a plus
- Experience in behavior management techniques is highly desirable
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required
