Summary:
This position is responsible for providing leadership in developing, expanding, and overseeing an agricultural commodity, feed ingredient, trading that aligns with the company's business model and growth objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and vision for creating additive trading opportunities within agribusiness.
- Conducts discovery and due diligence in entering new trade related business opportunities
- Creates business plans and executes on opportunities to trading business in existing markets and geographies
- Responsible for building and maintaining key relationships with trading and transportation/logistics partners and customers
- Provides leadership and guidance on position and trading strategy within commodities in collaboration with commodity traders, VP - Trading, and market/risk team
- Accountable for P&L of assigned trade desk and decisions/actions taken in the market
- Actively manages credit exposure
- Monitors overall commodity position and provides oversight
- Partners across trade groups to share critical commodity market information
- Actively participates in/leads routine commodity and economic research meetings/discussions
- Ensures compliance with applicable trade regulations and internal policies and procedures
- Utilizes data to measure company performance against established trading P&L objectives
- Drives a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity, and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Finance or related field required
- 10 years of related experience in Agricultural commodity industry
- Strong knowledge of logistics and freight trading programs
- Demonstrates curiosity, vision and invention in thought process
- Ability to scope, plan, and execute business plans
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related Software
Physical Demands:
- Open to Geography, dependent upon specific role (Omaha, NE or Kansas City, MO)
- Ability to travel throughout facilities as required
- Ability to travel up to 25% to company site locations and off-site business meetings/conferences
