Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Essential Attributes:
    • The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
    • Support and comply with the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct of the Clerk of Courts.
    • Maintain a high standard relating to attendance, appearance, accuracy and professional conduct and behavior.
    • Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
    Essential Tasks:
    • Attend court hearings and maintain accurate record of court orders, notes or sentences by transferring information as stated by judges during court proceedings to a Memo of Court.
    • Support judges, attorneys and other agencies in the justice system and public as needed, including preparation of evidence lists, court dates, orders, directions, judgments and other documents, administering oaths, distributing copies, as needed.
    • Prepare files before court and perform follow-up support duties that include maintaining court files, docketing court data records, reviewing files for accuracy and clarification, and posting information, as needed.
    • Clerk weekend First Appearance court proceedings on a rotating basis.
    • Work after hours including weekends and holidays, as needed.
    • Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
    • Perform other related work as required.
    • Multi-task as needed.
    Minimum Skills/Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
    • Ability to acquire or have knowledge of current procedures to accomplish tasks within areas of responsibility of department’s overall operation and workflow.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and work load.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the organization and speak, read and write English.
    • Ability to operate a PC and/or mainframe and related software applications.
    • Ability to compute ratio, percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
    • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 20 wpm.
  • Six months related job experience and/or training is preferred.
