Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Responsibilities:
Controls movement of vehicular traffic.
Distributes traffic control signs & markers along site in designated pattern.
Controls movement of traffic through site using sign, hand, & flag signals.
Warns construction workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident & injury to workers.
Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
Drive Company trucks as needed.
Qualifications:
Valid PA Driver's License
Reliable Personal Vehicle
MUST PASS A DRUG TEST
Comfortable standing 8-12 hours a day in any kind of weather
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be 18 years of age or older
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and understand the English language
