Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Responsibilities and Duties
The Traffic Dispatcher is responsible for planning and scheduling daily operations for the traffic department, scheduling of trucking activity, the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of associated loads. Ensures that all required procedures, standards, and documentation comply with DOT regulations. This role also provides work direction to Truck Drivers.
