Traffic Clerk, Sr. provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk, Sr. contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk, Sr. prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Safely directs movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand and flag signals. 2. Rotate holding flag and operating the pilot car. 3. Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. 4. Perform flagging or laboring duties as needed. 5. May operate small powered hand tools. 6. May operate skid loader. 7. Hook-up and unhook small trailer to pick-up. 8. Fill sandbags. 9. Communicated effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others. Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors. 10. Ensure Safety and Environmental regulation compliance. 11. Perform other duties as assigned. |
