Traffic Clerk, Sr. provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk, Sr. contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk, Sr. prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS

    • Maintain a safe work zone that ensures that traffic stays out of the way of workers.
    • Responsible for setting up and removing temporary cones, signs, variable message boards, and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding up signs that tells traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly.
    • Support project as flagger as needed to create a safe work area.
    • Responsible for the equipment used in day to day operations.
    • Complete daily logs (vehicle, time, project, etc.) timely and accurately.
    • Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job site.
    • Install, remove and reset delineators, signs, posts and support.
    • Assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites.
    • Pick up traffic control items at beginning and end of shift and load into the truck.
    • Other duties as assigned.
