    Description

    General summary of the position

    Plan, direct, coordinate and budget for, in collaboration with the Branch Manager, Dispatcher, and Estimator, multiple business projects and oversee the organization, scheduling and implementation of each project from start to finish.

    essential functions

    1. Full-cycle Project Management from start date to close-out: work with Branch Manager, Dispatcher, and Estimator to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with multiple road and site construction projects.
    2. Initiate and maintain contact as primary liaison with project owners, branch business unit, and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
    3. Project Timeliness: provide administrative direction to monitor and control projects throughout to ensure each project is completed on schedule and within budget.
    4. Scheduling: work with Branch Manager and Dispatcher to request and assign workers to project sites, as required.
    5. Project Timesheet Review: work with Branch Manager and Dispatcher to ensure accuracy of all employee timecards associated with each project.
    6. Job Cost Analysis: work with Contract Administrator and Estimator to prepare proposals and manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
    7. Material Analysis: formulate reports concerning such areas as materials required, work progress, costs and scheduling.
    8. Partner with A/R & A/P to resolve payment disputes.
    9. Demonstrate excellent communication skills required for regular and timely feedback to Branch Manager and Dispatcher.
    10. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients.
    11. Promote positive Safety Culture and compliance at all times.
    12. Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
    13. Develop new business opportunities through networking, client meetings and presentations.

    Qualifications


    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

    1. Comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
    2. Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
    3. Knowledge of public safety and security issues and regulations.
    4. Excellent mathematical skills, including application and use in problem-solving.
    5. Ability to coordinate own and others’ actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources.
    6. Strong understanding and expression of written and verbal English sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
    7. Sensitivity to problems; ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
    8. Bachelor’s or equivalent degree/experience combination, a plus.
    9. 2 years of experience in the heavy/highway transportation infrastructure industry, preferably at a level that required extensive project management work.
    10. Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.

    6. May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated.
    7. When working on site, will be required to wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats or life jackets.
    8. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
