Training Administrator is responsible for the coordination of employee and management training programs. Administers a recordkeeping system to track employee training participation and progress. Being a Training Administrator assists in other administrative and budgeting tasks associated with training programs. Coordinates and tracks participation in outside training activities. Additionally, Training Administrator may coordinate or administer skill or competency assessments, career counseling, outplacement, and other specialized training or development programs for employees. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Training Administrator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. This is a unique and intensive on-the-job training program designed for individuals seeking initial licensure as a Skilled Nursing Home Administrator and a career as a health care executive.
The AIT Program is a full-time, multi-month program in which the AIT obtains practical on-the-job training in a nursing home or assisted living environment under the direct supervision of an experienced Administrator preceptor/mentor.
The training program includes: Rotation through the various departments and duties in a skilled nursing or assisted living facility; education on the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies (such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); and a study of regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other topics of education for those in the AIT position include business/fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care compliance. AIT candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in their state of intended residence. An Administrator’s long-term success in the role is limited only by his/her own performance and motivation.
Qualifications:
· The right candidate must be passionate about serving and protecting the frail, sick and elderly.
· Has a professional and tactful demeanor allowing him/her to effectively deal with personnel, residents/patients, family members, visitors, physicians, government agencies/personnel, and the general public even under stressful or emotional circumstances.
· An inspirational leader and mentor who brings out the best in his/her managers and staff.
· Possesses a keen sense of business management guided by a strong set of values and ethics.
· Must have at least 2 years of experience managing a team with hiring and terminating authority.
· Prior business management experience preferred.
· Must have a four-year degree.
