Training Analyst reviews and evaluates training programs for an organization to ensure the training needs of the organization are being fulfilled. Analyzes existing training program delivery, content, and aids to measure effectiveness and recommend program changes. Being a Training Analyst develops and recommends methods and materials for training staff and may propose new curriculum, ideas for group discussions, demonstrations, and workshops. Incorporates new training methods that may enhance programs and are relevant to company employees. Additionally, Training Analyst may conduct analysis of instructor performance to drive improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Training Analyst contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Training Analyst (Police Department)

    STARTING PAY RATE: $27.39 - $30.63 per hour based on a 40-hour workweek. Salary dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $27.39 - $40.33. This position is represented by a union; you may refer to the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement available on our website.

    JOB SUMMARY:
    This position coordinates and supports the implementation of training for the members of the department, maintains inventory, and analyzes department data to ensure the effectiveness of department programs. We are looking to add a team member with the ability to establish good working relationships and have the ability to effectively share knowledge and present information clearly. Proficient with new technologies and skilled in Excel is a plus.

    JOB DUTIES:
    1. Evaluates and coordinates in-service training and assists instructors with preparing all needed documentation.
    2. Assists with evaluating assignments, and required training related to their assignments, and researches relevant future training opportunities.
    3. Ensures enrollment of police recruits at state-certified training academies and assists the Lieutenant with the completion of all documentation.
    4. Disseminates information to all Divisions regarding available training schools and seminars. Advertises training programs externally through contacts at other agencies, as needed.
    5. Attends and assists the lieutenant with training committee and field training officer meetings.
    6. Reviews all instructional lesson plans to ensure all tests/lesson plans, handouts, training locations, and equipment are consistent and available for scheduled training. Updates and revises information for training manuals. Compiles information for various reports that may contain sensitive and confidential information.
    7. Assists with preparing and monitoring the training budget and schedules to maintain best practices.
    8. Compiles and reviews all documentation needed to process payment or reimbursement of attendance and travel expenses.

    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Associate’s degree in business administration, education, or a related field.
    2. A minimum of three years of experience in an information processing or customer service role, preferably with a law enforcement or training practitioner background.
    3. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
    4. Proficiency with current computer technology, job-specific software, and customer service systems.
