Dog Trainer
  • Always Faithful Dog Training
  • Crystal, IL PART_TIME
  • We are hiring part time dog trainers. Our business is pretty simple, we get to help people learn how to handle their dogs. We teach you our methods and you teach dog owners. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who loves dogs and seeks a flexible schedule with excellent compensation. Great for moms who exemplify the candidate described below and want to make some money while the kids are at school.

Location - although trainers will travel to clients, we are seeking trainers that live in the Northwestern suburbs such as Crystal Lake, Huntley, Algonquin, Barrington, and surrounding towns.

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • Professionalism & sales ability. Our trainers need to be skilled and timely in responding to customer inquiries, able to articulate our unique sales proposition, discern qualified opportunities and manage time appropriately.
    • Use our training methods exclusively. We train leadership methodology and therefore, we do not use food, clickers, or shock collars. If you want to use those tools, you can't work here.
    • Good social skills with dogs and humans. We are teaching humans to be calm and confident leaders for their dogs. Our trainers need to communicate clearly, persuasively and with compassion to our clients.
    • Be calm and commanding/confident at all times. You’ll need to keep a high level of patience since you are training animals and they require time and repetition to understand. Dogs perceive nervousness, frustration or anxiety/fear and this will effect the success of your training.
    • Humility, openness to feedback and learning. We are always learning something new as we are training different dogs. There may be times when a dog isn’t responding as expected to a particular method and you’ll need to be able to ask for help or admit when you make a mistake. We are here to help and our view is we never stop learning.
    • Time Management skills. Trainers will need to carefully manage their own time and be considerate of our clients’ time. This is our job, not theirs! They may have children, jobs, or many other demands on their time which may prevent them from practicing or require lessons after hours or on weekends.
    • Sense of humor. We train dogs after all, so you’ll need to be fun and open with people so they feel comfortable while you are in their homes. Something silly, embarrassing, or messy will happen so you’ll need to be able to laugh when things get tense.

    Requirements:

    • Must have reliable transportation & ability/willingness to travel to people's homes since lessons are conducted in our clients' homes. Together, we will decide on a mileage radius around your home that works for you.
    • Permitted to work legally in the US.
    • Must be over 25 years of age.
    • Must be able to pass a federal background check.

Always Faithful Dog Training of Northern IL is dedicated to helping humans honor the dog. We are a locally owned and operated franchise. The Always Faithful Dog Training franchise was started in 2003 by a US Marine K9 handler who developed our system’s leadership methodology which we use to train our clients.
