Training Assistant is responsible for clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of training and organizational development programs. Schedules training events, coordinates with instructors, obtains and distributes required instructional materials, and communicates schedules and details. Being a Training Assistant processes enrollments and answers routine inquiries regarding courses, schedules, and locations. Uses an information system or database to enter data and produce reports on training statistics, inventory levels or assessments of the programs and instructors. Additionally, Training Assistant coordinates additional services including technical equipment, meals and refreshments, housekeeping, maintenance or repairs. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Training Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Purpose & General Summary:
The Day Habilitation Assistant is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, provision of program services to adults with disabilities in the Day Habilitation Program. Our Day Habilitation Program is client driven that offers social interaction and community engagement. The Day Habilitation Assistant will need to implement, supervise, and encourage client participation in social, leisure, and recreational activities. Day Habilitation Assistant is also responsible to accurately document daily goals and complete assessments in a timely fashion.
Education Requirements: Associate degree or high school diploma or equivalent and 6 months’ relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: A person providing direct support shall complete 9.5 hours of online training within the first 30 days of hire. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or be willing to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. The person must possess Iowa Limited Chauffeurs License or obtain within 60 days of hire and meet insurance company’s standards of insurability. Certification as a Medication Manager or able to obtain training and certification within 6 months of start date. Life Skills Training Center will assist and pay for these requirements.
Schedule: This full-time position maintaining a stable schedule of 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently within a self-directed setting.
Background Investigation: Must successfully complete Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation background record check as well as an Iowa DHS Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Central Registry background check. Must successfully pass Federal and State OIG Medicaid Exclusion Registry check.
