Training Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate training programs aligned with the objectives and strategy of the company. Collaborates with functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs. Being a Training Director develops a program delivery schedule that provides training as needed and in locations that work for the participants. Provides engaging communications about program information to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of training. Additionally, Training Director approves new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs. Oversees and establishes relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs. Manages and develops training professionals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Training Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Training Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Karma Dog Training, established in 2004, is now hiring Positive-based Dog Assistant and Lead Trainers (we are also accepting Volunteers as well) who know how to come from the highest, most enlightened perspective when communicating with dogs and their humans.
Our organization, which prides itself with a mission toward enhancing the human-canine relationship through education and dog-friendly training, is looking for assistant and lead dog trainers with great people skills. If you have more than 2 years experience and want to apply as a Behavior Specialist, we do have an opening for that as well.
Potential applicant must have:
1) Excellent people and social skills.
2) Hands-on experience training or being responsible for raising several different types of dogs.
3) Be available on weekends and have reliable transportation.
4) Be familiar, or be willing to read up on, top positive dog trainers like Dr. Ian Dunbar, Karen Pryor, Pat Miller, Paul Owens, Patricia McConnell.
5) Be comfortable being on camera as we are filming a series of Karma Dog Tutorial Videos for our YouTube channel and Netflix
