Training Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate training programs aligned with the objectives and strategy of the company. Collaborates with functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs. Being a Training Director develops a program delivery schedule that provides training as needed and in locations that work for the participants. Provides engaging communications about program information to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of training. Additionally, Training Director approves new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs. Oversees and establishes relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs. Manages and develops training professionals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Training Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Training Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Through positive leadership, elevate individual team-member confidence, skillsets and abilities to enable them to execute work tasks at world-class level craftsmanship in a highly efficient manner. Coaching individuals with diverse skill sets to work as a team to achieve award-winning work while maintaining a positive, rewarding and respectful work environment. Identifying restoration industry best practices and the developing, implementing and instructing team members to utilize these practices in the application of their individual crafts.

    Key Results Area 1 - Apprenticeship Program(s)
    • Establish and then maintain all aspects of the USDOL Apprenticeship program(s) for the major trades identified as required by Renaissance.
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal apprenticeship recording activities.
    • Assemble necessary committee and meet regularly to establish, adjust and update craftsmanship training requirements.
    • Assume complete responsibility for the apprenticeship program(s) with the support of the management team.
    • Establish financial and personnel budgets to ensure the success of the program(s).
    Key Results Area 2 - Skills Training
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive skills training program with videos, manuals and other methods to ensure the program is completely documented.
    • Identify and document training opportunities and requirements to elevate the skills of team members.
    • Establish, implement and manage the training materials and procedures to meet the requirements of the Apprenticeship Program(s).
    • Provide and document required training in the classroom, training facilities, and on the jobsites through all means necessary.
    • Evaluate and record training achievements and challenges and report to leadership on a quarterly basis.
    • Work with production team to identify on specific projects the skills training determined most beneficial to the goals of the project and execute the training required.
    Key Results Area 3 - Quality and Efficiency Assurance
    • Develop and communicate written paramount efficiency and quality standards for each trade we regularly employ.
    • Develop, communicate and inspect specific efficiency and quality standards (cardinal rules) within various trades that address specific non-negotiable standards that must be adhered to.
    • Conduct and provide both informal and formal written evaluations of efficiency and quality assurance for individuals and work groups on a regular basis.
    • Establish and provide training to correct performance not in compliance with efficiency and quality standards on a timely basis.
    • Help production team achieve project goals through team work to achieve quality and efficiency standards.
    Key Results Area 4 - Leadership

    Ideal Candidates to possess the following:
    • Experience as a Training Director, Training Manager or similar role.
    • In-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods (including workshops, simulations, e-learning and coaching).
    • Personable and professional with excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills.
    • Hands on, extensive experience and expertise with any/and/or all of the traditional roofing systems, copper flashing and copper guttering systems, carpentry and masonry.
    • Travel to job sites nationwide is required.
    • Computer Literate to complete job requirements.
    • Positive energy to organize, plan and implement in an dynamic and changing work environment.
