    Summary:

    The Manager Patient Access - Physician Enterprise (PE) is responsible for overseeing the access services functions for the physician enterprise, including both Catholic Health (CH) and Trinity Clinics (collectively, "the Clinics"). The Patient Access Manager - PE is the owner of the Registration/Front Desk product of the clinics. This position will work with clinic managers, directors and other Physician Enterprise Leadership in order to ensure appropriate, timely and accurate registration of clinic patients. This position plays an important role in the overall success of our Physician Enterprise, as it facilitates the critical processes at the beginning of the revenue cycle, which begins when a patient is scheduled and ends when payment is received and the account is closed. Successful management of all patient access services throughout the revenue cycle helps ensure billing and payment takes place in a timely manner. This position will work in cooperation with the Patient Engagement Center (PEC), which is responsible for the scheduling, pre-registration and referral/authorization task for some clinics. The PEC is primarily "offstage" while this position serves as the "onstage" patient access presence in the clinics. This position is expected to round consistently at the various clinics to promote and provide standard, correct registrations practices and training as well as work directly with new and struggling front office staff to create an accurate and reliable registration product. Position will also manage and support all of the Clinic Registration work queues and assist staff with correcting errors (charge or claims edits) or finishing incomplete registrations. Position will also participate as an educator for the CH Patient Access Services Onboarding and Insurance Re-Education program.

    This position is required to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory agencies. Oversight includes all of the ambulatory physician practices:
    • Hospital based sites
    • Trinity sites

    Responsibilities:

    EDUCATION
    • High school graduate
    • Additional post-secondary education preferred

    EXPERIENCE
    • Three years of experience in a healthcare billing environment, appeals and coding experience preferred
    • Epic experience is preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
    • Knowledge of medical terminology required
    • Ability to independently compose well thought out appeals for healthcare services using proper grammar and writing structure
    • Ability to draw conclusions from the medical documentation provided in the record and crosswalk the documentation to the appeal letters created
    • Must be detail oriented and be able to manage multiple audit tasks and topics concurrently
    • Computer proficiency with strong keyboarding skills and able to learn and master tracking software
    • Visual acuity to read medical records
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Solid time management skills
    • Understands and maintains confidential nature of information handled and discussed
    • Ability to apply judgment independently and prioritize tasks without daily coaching or direction
