Training Manager designs, plans, and implements training programs, policies, and procedures. Collaborates with functional teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs and the effectiveness of established programs. Being a Training Manager researches new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs to meet the organization's changing needs. Engages with vendors providing supplemental training programs or training content. Additionally, Training Manager ensures that training resources and delivery methods are kept up to date and are effective. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Residential Program Manager

  • The Residential Program Manager is responsible for training, planning, supervising and coordinating the work of Residential Team. As well as ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as training. ( DBHDS, VDSS, OHS etc)

    Job Description:

    • Inspect and follow up on Residential Team members job duties and completion of work weekly.
    • Review of monthly documentation completed by Residential Team Members .
    • Responsible for planning, supervising, holding accountable, and coordinating the work of Residential Supervisors. Effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission, vision and values.
    • Conducts one unannounced inspection of the residential homes monthly.
    • Provides feedback based on the unannounced inspections to Residential Supervisors and follows up with the Residential Supervisor on implementation.
    • Manages residential operations for 24/7 on-call emergency situations. Manages on-call rotation of Supervisors for the Residential Program (carry an Agency provided cell phone) and ensures that appropriate coverage is scheduled and present for individuals residing at each site. May be required to provide Direct Support coverage.
    • Ensure safety compliance for residents residing within the residential settings and the Direct Support Professionals who work there. Work with QA/Risk Management staff on reducing risks.
    • Provides input into development and ongoing management of future budgets, staffing, maintenance, and safety for Residential operations to provide quality residential living environments for residents.
    • Provides input and works effectively with the Culinary Manager on having healthy, dinner meals in the residential homes and providing input of residents’ choices.
    • Utilizes effective interpersonal, counseling and negotiation skills to handle sensitive issues with families, individuals, staff and outside agencies.
    • Monitors and ensures that activities, both inside and outside of the home, comply with State and Federal regulations and Agency and Program specific policies and procedures and follow Person-Centered principles.
    • Provides responses as well as input on corrective action plans that are issued by regulatory entities and ensures implementation of the plan of action within the program(s).
    • Ensures training compliance is completed by residential staff and follows up by coordinating with Human Resources when there are compliance concerns.
    • Monitors and reviews all general events and incidents and develops systems to ensure the health and safety of residents at residential sites. Conduct investigations involving serious injuries and allegations to include

    • Helps maintain all residential programs are kept within state regulations and compliance.

    Bachelors Degree Required ( Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Education preferred)
