Training and Development Specialist

  • Health Affiliates Maine has an opening for a Training and Development Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, 40 hr/wk, role.

    Roles and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following):

    • Identify the overall training needs of the organization to continue HAM's strive for excellence in quality services.
    • Work with directors and management to assess and oversee the training needs of each department including staff, affiliate/non-affiliate, case managers and the community, ssuring programs meet state and HAM requirements.
    • Assist Supervisors with the training needs of their department by coordinating logistics, assisting in the development, monitoring cohesive presentation methods, creating feedback loops and problem-solving inefficiencies.
    • Communicate with presenters/trainers as agency liaison, creating contracts, establishing training dates, and assisting presenter with their needs related to the trainings.
    • Organize all components of the training day. Assist with identifying training location, registrations, accommodations for guests, etc.
    • Act as primary host the day of the event, assisting trainer with equipment/IT needs, communicating with event facility throughout the day, overseeing the registration table, assisting guests throughout day, and organizing and overseeing CEU distribution to ensure requirements are met.
    • Assist in updating and maintaining orientation programs for staff and affiliates.
    • Research current trends and evaluate clinical/community needs and present findings to CM and OPT Directors for review and consideration.
    • Provide HAM affiliates and employees with trainings that are relevant and meet the needs of all levels of experience.
    • Create and monitor training feedback loops and utilize surveys tools to assess training efforts.
    • Provide affiliates and staff with non-HAM CEU options and opportunities based on feedback from the clinical teams and current industry trends on a quarterly basis.
    • Ensure that agency provides trainings that meet the requirements of each licensure board (LCSW, LCPC/LMFT, LADC) and DLC/DHHS.
    • Annually create staff development plan in cooperation with ED and Assistant Director of HR.
    • Produce and present trainings as needed on a variety of topics utilizing multiple platforms such as power point, webinar, share point etc.
    • Develop training materials and registrations (paper and electronic) to advertise HAM trainings in coordination with agency's marketing team.
    • Provide updates of training offerings highlighted on HAM website.
    • Track all continuing education hours to ensure training compliance is met for all contractors and employees.
    • Create training certificates for all HAM provided trainings.
    • Continually assess and improve all technologies utilized in HAM’s training program to ensure continued growth, efficiencies, and effectiveness of the program.
    • Attend and participate in monthly training meetings with ED, CM Director, OPT Director and Assistant Director of HR.
    • Attend and participate in agency meetings, including department meetings, as applicable and necessary per role responsibilities.
    • Perform other duties related to the position as directed by the Assistant Director of Human Resources.

    Minimum Education/Experience Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, marketing, or related field
    • 2 years of experience providing training in a professional setting
    • 2 years of experience working in the behavioral health field preferred
