This position develops and maintains positive working relationships with employers, businesses, social and professional community organizations, political and city officials, and the media. The Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center, operated by Education and Training Resources (ETR), provides education, training and employment services to at-risk young adults.

MAIN DUTIES:

•    Boost image of Center through events, civic projects, programs and celebrations

•    Promote news, events and accomplishments of the Center

•    Communicate with organizations and coordinate participation in community service

•    Build business relationships to promote and place students at workplaces

•    Submit activity reports on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis

WORK SCHEDULE:  Part-time 20 hours per week during regular business hours, but may need to occasionally flex schedule to include evenings and/or weekends

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field (may substitute related experience on year-for-year basis), three years of experience in public relations or related field, and valid Minnesota driver’s license with clean driving record

PAY AND BENEFITS:  $24,000 per year plus paid holidays, vacation and sick time
