Job Summary:
Salas O’Brien is looking to find a Training Specialist who can collaborate with NYSERDA and support continued development of training plans, materials, opportunities, and related resources across the Authority.
Job tasks include:
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive needs analyses of project engagements
- Utilize needs analyses to determine best training approach to achieve desired outcomes within the timeframe available for project completion
- Develop and maintain comprehensive digital materials such as user guides and job aids for complex, multi-audience business processes, leveraging internal design and UX standards
- Create, test, and implement eLearning opportunities using Articulate and Camtasia
- Deliver remote training to internal and external stakeholders and develop supporting presentations and scripts
- Produce video tutorials using Camtasia, PowerPoint, and web-based video platforms such as MS Teams and WebEx
- Assist in the administration of NYSERDA's Learning Management System, Professional Development Calendar, and Course Library
- Assist in the daily task management of the Training Coordinator and training intern
- Provide project updates in weekly team status meetings, highlighting implementation risks and suggested resolutions
Required skills include:
- 2-3 years prior experience in a training role assessing, developing, administering, and evaluating training deliverables and outcomes
- Ability to synthesize training needs from stakeholders and available data to formulate comprehensive training plans
- Experience developing and implementing content for digital user guides, eLearning courses, in-person/remote training, and video tutorials
- Experience delivering/facilitating in-person/remote-based knowledge transfers
- Experience using eLearning and video production software such as Articulate and Camtasia
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel while staying highly organized and adaptive to changing circumstances and deadlines
- Experience utilizing standard training methodologies such as ADDIE and SAM
- Customer oriented, with active listening skills and the ability to develop trusted partnerships across the Authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Basic functional use and knowledge of the following a plus: Articulate, Camtasia, Confluence, Graphic Design, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and SharePoint
This is a full-time position as a Salas O’Brien employee working remotely. Benefits include a health insurance plan, a 401K profit sharing plan, and PTO. The position offers competitive compensation with an anticipated annual salary range of $70,000 to $100,000, based on candidate experience.
