Position Summary
Walsh University invites applications for the faculty position of Director of Clinical Education (DCE) within the Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program. This faculty member will be instrumental in maintaining and advancing the clinical education curriculum for our program. We are seeking a dynamic educator who will collaborate with our team to deliver a contemporary entry-level physical therapy curriculum focused on developing leaders in service to meet the needs of society and the profession. Participation in scholarship and service activities to advance the mission and vision of the program and the physical therapy profession will guide the DCE’s professional development.
Primary academic responsibilities include the administration of the clinical education program, which includes securing clinical education experiences, building relationships with our clinical education sites and clinical educators, and mentoring, advising and assessing students throughout their clinical education courses. The DCE may also be involved in other teaching responsibilities such as providing instruction and student assessment in clinical specialty areas, health care business management, or community-based health programming, based upon experience. Other responsibilities include course and program assessment, accreditation activities, academic advising, and program and university governance. The faculty member will report to the Chair of the Physical Therapy Program.
