Job Summary: Assists the Senior Clinical Director in the organization and daily function of the Surgery Center in accordance with established Federal, State and Accreditation Standards. Directs all activities of the Center in accordance with association recommended standards for perioperative nursing care and MPSC policies and procedures. Assists in overseeing patient care and staffing activities in PACU and the OR. Maintains a high standard of safety for the patient and other staff members. Responsible for maintenance of equipment, adequate supply inventory, PACU and OR orientation, complete and accurate medical records, and assists with the oversight of personnel scheduling and the Quality Improvement Program. Essential responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Communication: Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner. Promotes effective communication among the facility’s clinical areas, business office, and physician practices.
Professional Competence: Participates in continuing education and other learning experiences. Shares knowledge gained in continuing education with staff. Seeks new learning experiences by accepting challenging opportunities and responsibilities. Welcomes suggestions and recommendations. Make suggestions to other Clinical Directors and/or Director of Education for continuing education of clinical staff members. Assists with comprehensive and informative orientation programs for new employees in the clinical area.
