Translator translates written and spoken information from one language to another. Reads, comprehends, and rewrites materials in designated languages following established linguistic rules related to word meanings, sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation. Being a Translator must be well versed in vocabulary dealing with specialty. Must follow ethical procedures and policies that protect the confidentiality of information. Additionally, Translator may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Translator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     The Interpreter/Translator provides interpretation and translation, both written and verbal of English and Spanish, to facilitate the delivery of audiology, speech, and occupational therapy services to Spanish-speaking patients, parents, and/or caregivers. The Interpreter/Translator role is vital in bridging the gap for our Spanish speaking patients by teaming up with a provider to assist in any interpretation needs.

    Other duties include assisting with billing, scheduling, patient follow ups, translation of written materials such as training and home programs, updating patient charts, and performing other office duties as assigned.

    This position is an office clinical setting and works mostly with children from toddler ages to young adults. Work week is Monday through Friday, no holidays, or weekends.

    Qualifications:     High School Diploma/ GED. Prior medical translating experience is preferred. Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
