Translator translates written and spoken information from one language to another. Reads, comprehends, and rewrites materials in designated languages following established linguistic rules related to word meanings, sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation. Being a Translator must be well versed in vocabulary dealing with specialty. Must follow ethical procedures and policies that protect the confidentiality of information. Additionally, Translator may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Translator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Requirements:
    • An Associate's Degree, or 60 college credit hours, or successful completion of the Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment.
    • Prefer an individual who is fluent in one or more languages besides English.
    • Have ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Be able to read and write. Have the ability to understand, and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Demonstrate an interest in youth and their educational welfare.
    • Ability and desire to assist the teacher in providing an educational opportunity for the handicapped child to attain his/her maximum potential.
    • Experience in working with children in a group setting.
    • Ability to work well with learning community, parents teachers, students, administrators and staff with courtesy, tact, and good judgment along with having good customer service skills.
    • Be of good character, neat in personal appearance, dependable, reliable, prompt, and flexible and have pleasing manners and personality.
    • Ability to cooperate with teachers and willingness to take directions from teaching staff.
    • Ability to stay uninvolved unless directed by the teacher, even if a situation is perceived differently than the teacher sees it.

    $21,316 - $25,180 annual salary
