Transmitter Engineer installs, develops and operates all aspects of electronic equipment used to transmit radio and television programs. May require a bachelor's degree in engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Transmitter Engineer has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Transmitter Engineer works under immediate supervision. Education and/or Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. The ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. The ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guest, members of the staff or regulatory agencies. The ability to perform normal mathematical computations in regards to the implementation of current duties. The ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables.
Licenses/Certificates: Must be 21 years or older. Must have a Valid State Driver’s License. Must have a 1st or 2nd class City of New Orleans Stationary Engineer’s certification (Boiler and Air Conditioning). Must be able to obtain a Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.
