Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Transmitter Engineer works under immediate supervision. Line Maintenance Lead Technician (ILN)

  • What you will do:

    Assists supervisor in providing leadership and technical support to assigned personnel. Aids management in creating and maintaining a safe work environment, managing costs and delivering a quality product on time. Performs as a working member of the crew providing additional oversight to ensure work is performed within budgeted time and within the guidelines of all applicable FAA regulations. Helps to manage the daily workflow of the aircraft by providing help with all aspects of the project including troubleshooting issues as well as problems with customers. This position performs safety sensitive functions as defined by the DOT under CFR 49 Part 40 and FAR 121.

    Job Functions:

    • Perform troubleshooting, inspections, routine & non-routine maintenance on customer aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data, customer maintenance program requirements, within estimated or budgeted hours and within FAA and customer standards of quality.
    • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
    • Accurately complete all paperwork and computer-based work data submissions in a timely manner.
    • Work with customer maintenance control to Return to Service customer aircraft safely and efficiently.
    • Document all maintenance actions in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established company, customer, and FAA guidelines.
    • Obtain RII qualifications to perform the duties of an inspector when requested.
    • Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to ensure all duties are performed within established safety guidelines. Use and safely operate all required powered and non-powered ground support equipment.
    • Maintains strict control over assigned equipment, tooling, and materials. Manages time and other company assets in a cost-effective manner.
    • Assists management by leading teams of employees, planning work for crew/shift, assigning tasks, training, and helping to set priorities for team.
    • Resolves minor difficulties that are encountered during execution of job assignments by the technicians on the crew.

    Required Job Skills:

    • Valid A&P License
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to accomplish tasks under pressure with limited direct supervision.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate, update and persuade others to ensure the satisfactory accomplishment of high-quality work within established timeframes.
    • Effectively speaks, reads, and writes in the English language.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of ramp operations.
    • Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, drawings, and instructions.
    • Proven leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to foster cooperation and teamwork with others, make sound decisions and exercise good judgement.
    • Demonstrated efficiency in the use and application of tools, gauges, and instruments that are necessary for the accomplishment of assigned duties.
    • Understanding and knowledge of hazardous material handling and disposal as related to job assignment.
    • Proficient in Wings and Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Four years of transport category aircraft maintenance experience, two of those in a line maintenance operation with an airline or MRO.
    • Two years maintenance experience on Boeing aircraft.
    • Ability to travel as needed.

    Preferred Job Skills:

    • College degree in an aviation or related technical field.
    • Certificate of completion for General Familiarization training on Boeing 767.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
    • Ability to fit in tight places for prolonged periods of time
    • Ability to twist, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, squat and crawl & hold these positions for long periods of time
    • Ability to work in confined spaces with respiratory equipment
    • Able to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights of up to 60 feet
    • Able to perform work with arms raised above head for extended periods of time
    • Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
    • Ability to precisely manipulate hand tools in a variety of situations
    • Able to perform repetitive task and motions for extended periods
