Transplant Nurse Coordinator jobs in Los Angeles, CA
Transplant Nurse Coordinator provides planning and coordination of all facets of clinical care for potential and actual transplant candidates and recipients. Manages referral, evaluation, and pre-transplant data for transplant patients and coordinates the clinical management of post-transplant patients. Being a Transplant Nurse Coordinator develops materials and delivers programs to educate and support patients, families, and clinicians throughout the transplant process. Requires clinical experience in the care and treatment of transplant patients. Additionally, Transplant Nurse Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree of Nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered nurse (RN). May require certification from a professional organ transplant nursing certification board. The Transplant Nurse Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Job Summary: As a Coordinator for ENT/Eyes/Plastics, you will be responsible for coordinating patient care and ensuring the smooth operations of our ENT, Eyes, and Plastics departments. You will work closely with physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and quality care.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and procedures
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Perform pre-operative assessments, including patient education and preparation
- Oversee patient paperwork, ensuring accurate and complete documentation
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patients' post-operative recovery and provide appropriate follow-up care
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care
- Ensure compliance with all medical and legal requirements
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Previous experience in ENT, Eyes, or Plastics specialty preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic computer skills
- BLS certification
