Transplant Nurse Coordinator provides planning and coordination of all facets of clinical care for potential and actual transplant candidates and recipients. Manages referral, evaluation, and pre-transplant data for transplant patients and coordinates the clinical management of post-transplant patients. Being a Transplant Nurse Coordinator develops materials and delivers programs to educate and support patients, families, and clinicians throughout the transplant process. Requires clinical experience in the care and treatment of transplant patients. Additionally, Transplant Nurse Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree of Nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered nurse (RN). May require certification from a professional organ transplant nursing certification board. The Transplant Nurse Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Responsible for coordinating clinical aspects of multi-organ transplantation as it applies to the transplant recipient. Assists in the development and growth of an individualized program for patients referred for possible transplantation. Responsibilities include coordination of the pre-transplant evaluation, registration and listing of potential transplant recipients, and post transplant care. As an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinates and performs various other clinical, educational, administrative, and technical responsibilities related to clinical transplantation. .

EDUCATION
BSN /or appropriate certification/licensure. Masters Degree is also desirable..
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) to five (5) years clinical patient care in an area relevant to transplantation. Actual experience in organ transplantation is highly desirable and preferred
LICENSURE
Registered Nurse or Physician's Assistant recommended Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) recommended within 2 years of starting position
SPECIAL SKILLS
Highly developed clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
RN required. Efficiency in EPIC, Teams, Outlook. Abdominal organ transplant experience appreciated but not required. Potential for 8hr or 10hr days with some remote work. Candidate should be flexible and able to work both independently and with a team.
