Transplant Nurse Coordinator provides planning and coordination of all facets of clinical care for potential and actual transplant candidates and recipients. Manages referral, evaluation, and pre-transplant data for transplant patients and coordinates the clinical management of post-transplant patients. Being a Transplant Nurse Coordinator develops materials and delivers programs to educate and support patients, families, and clinicians throughout the transplant process. Requires clinical experience in the care and treatment of transplant patients. Additionally, Transplant Nurse Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree of Nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered nurse (RN). May require certification from a professional organ transplant nursing certification board. Advanced Dermatology, a robust, well-established independent and privately-owned group practice consisting of 3 Board Certified Dermatologists, a fellowship trained Mohs Surgeon and 4 extenders, with increasing patient base and referrals is seeking to hire a full time Nurse Coordinator (LPN/RN) at our Norwich location.
Clinical responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist with dermatologic procedures and surgeries including Mohs skin cancer surgery cases and reconstructions
- Perform post surgical wound care and suture removals
- Perform photodynamic therapy treatments
- Administer therapeutic intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
- Train patients on self-administered biologic injectable medications
Coordinator responsibilities include, but not limited to:
-Oversee staff of medical assistants to ensure proper clinical coverage
-Liaison between providers and clinical staff
-Train new clinical staff including procedure set up, infection control, and patient education
-Train clinical staff on procedures for UV light therapy treatments
-Assist with medication prior authorization processes
-Oversee timely processing of referrals and incoming/outgoing medical record requests
-Triage calls/questions from patients related to their clinical care
Training on Dermatology specific skills will be provided. Experience in staff coordination/ management is preferred. This candidate will need strong clinical, interpersonal, computer and patient safety skills.
