    Your Opportunity

    Stantec’s New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a talented, team focused Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway/highway design. The position is location flexible between our Auburn NH; Burlington, Quincy, and Boston MA offices and hybrid work. This position is for an individual looking to challenge themselves on a variety of transportation projects. You will have an opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and diverse transportation projects in the region.

    We are looking for a Civil Engineer who has a positive attitude, self-motivated, is a fast learner, and enjoys working in a team environment. The successful candidate will join a growing team of transportation professionals and play a role in the highway design components of large and small roadway and bridge projects throughout Massachusetts. The position has the potential to quickly lead to more challenging roles as you grow with the company.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO specifications and CAD Standards using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Familiarity with MassDOT standards is a plus.
    • Develop design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
    • Assist in preparing engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos and Design Justification Workbooks.
    • Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultants.
    • Perform field investigations.
    • Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.
    • Work alongside experienced practitioners to expand your knowledge.
    • Provide guidance to influence and mentor team members with positive growth-oriented perspective.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • EIT
    • Massachusetts PE (desired but not required)
    • Familiarity with AASHTO design standards
    • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in both office and virtual environments
    • Pro-active attitude, attention to detail, punctual, and organized
    • Excellent time-management skills
    • Enjoy challenges and problem-solving

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in design.

    Position will primarily work in an office or virtual setting; may require some field work.
